The night belonged to the NY Mets, who came out on fire scoring thirteen runs on eleven hits and snatching game three 13-7 over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The pitching match up of Mets Matt Harvey (13-8 2.71 ERA) and Dodgers (Brett Anderson 10-9 3.19 ERA), was not as good as some might of wanted for a game three playoff game, but Matt harvey got the win going five laboring innings, giving up seven hits, two earned runs, two walks and seven strikeouts.
Dodgers Brett Anderson on the other hand had a real short night going three innings, giving up seven hits, six runs, no walks and three strikeouts.
The story of the night goes to the bats of the Mets, whose thirteen runs scored is a club record for a postseason game.
The players to thank for that explosion are; right fielder Curtis Granderson 2 for 5 five RBI's, left fielder Yoenis Cespedes 3 for 5 three RBI's, catcher Travis D'arnaud 3 for 5 three RBI's and shortstop Wilmer Flores 2 for 3 with a walk.
The Dodgers could not muster up enough crucial RBI opportunities, the hits were thirteen a piece, but Dodgers could only score seven runs to the Mets thirteen. A bright spot in an overall tough night was Adrian Gonzalez the constant pro going 2 for 4, a walk, one RBI and did blast a home run.
The Dodgers did manage to set a record for the most allowed runs in a postseason game with thirteen.
Game four will take place in New York October 13th with the Mets sending to the mound Steven Matz (4-0 2.27 ERA) and the Dodgers send ace Clayton Kershaw (16-7 2.13 ERA).
